School Board Minutes
January 8, 2007
There was a public meeting for the facilities 10 year master plan held in conjunction with the regular meeting of the West Fork School Board on Monday, January 8, 2007, at 7:00 p.m. in the board room. Those present were Karen Daugherity, Jerry Boyd, Daryl Quinton, Deborah Harnish, and Tim Helder.
I. The meeting was called to order by president Karen Daugherity.
II. Pledge of Allegiance and prayer were led by Tim Helder.
III. Motion by Tim Helder second Jerry Boyd to approve the minutes of the December meeting. Motion carried. (5-0)
IV. The board reviewed the financial statement.
V. Mrs. Barrett gave an overview of the 10 year facility master plan. The public was invited to make comments or suggestions concerning this (see attached page).
VI. Mrs. Barrett reported
That the enrollment is down 7 students from this time last year.
We were finally able to contract with a private agency for a speech pathologist for this semester.
VII. Motion by Tim Helder second Deborah Harnish to approve the revised Bullying Policy to be in compliance with state standards. Motion carried. (5-0) See attached.
VIII. Motion by Daryl Quinton second Jerry Boyd to approve the transfer of Tyler Richardson from Pr. Grove. Motion carried. (5-0)
IX.Motion by Jerry Boyd second Tim Helder to approve obtaining bids for a school bus for the 2007-08 school year. Motion carried. (5-0)
X. The board received Code of Ethics forms to be completed.
XI. The board went into executive session.
XII. The board went back into regular session.
XIII.Motion by Tim Helder second Jerry Boyd to accept the resignation of Joan Wright as Spanish teacher. Motion carried. (5-0)
XIV. Items mentioned under other included:
XV. Checking on the lease with the city of West Fork concerning the softball field.
XVI. Inviting clubs or groups to the board meetings to share events.
XVII. Karen gave a concession stand update for the football/volleyball season. The profit was $13,074.95.
XVIII.Concern that the prices in the basketball concession were too high.
XIX. No school January 15, Professional Development Day.
XX. The Legislature has reconvened. This year the NWAESC will provide CIV
XXI.(Compressed Interactive Video) updates on Wednesdays, starting January 17 at 4:00 p.m.
XXII. Motion by Tim Helder second Daryl Quinton to adjourn. Motion carried. (5-0)
